Frédéric Gracia was born in Paris, France, in 1959, studied at l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués, and is known for his mural and trompe l’oeil paintings which are to be seen in restaurants, hotels, and tourist sites around the world. He is based in Le Plessis-Robinson. The painting shows a distant view from space of a cratered blue world, the image of which has pure droplets of water attached. The artist explains: ‘This is a study of opposition and fusion: the opposition of matter – water and mineral; the fusion of forms – circles created by craters and by drops of water. Through this work I hope to convey a message of hope to future generations: Let us not soil the blue of our world’.
