Fethi Ben Zakour was born in Tunisia in 1947, studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Tunis, and lives in Radès. His painting shows two female cloaked riders on their horses in the desert, with two children in the foreground. The girl in white holds down her dress as it billows in the wind, helped by her companion. The picture is characterised by simple stylised forms and warm earth colours. The artist comments: Women and horses are eternal subjects for painters and poets. It was easy for me to be inspired.
